Today’s class was a little different from the rest of the
days, as we started with EFL methodologies and approaches.
The instructor used the communicative approach in her
teaching, she started with a few questions which we worked on them individually
and then shared it in our group, furthermore, we shared the responses with the
rest of the class and we learned more about each other.
The next task was to explain a number of methodologies she
had prepared for the class, as one of the groups we worked on “Effective humanist
approach”. Explaining and creating an application so English learners can use, it
was very useful and we had the chance to hear from the others regarding the
various pedagogy.
Technology session was a lot of fun, learning how to use circuit
machine to make beautiful shapes with colorful papers for bulletin boards, map
concept, popplet and plickres. In general, they were a lot of fun and very
useful, but am not sure without these devices how this will be possible to use in
a class back home!
The tour to the lab and experience the 3D printer for the
very first time, was a fabulous experiment. The students here are very fortunate
to have such facility, hope that we can build similar facilities back home one
day.
What I have learnt from that class is, everywhere around the
world teaching is challenging and only you can make it to be fun and beneficial.
